In 1971, data for collective dwellings and population in collective dwellings are aggregated for the Yukon and the Northwest Territories and shown for the Northwest Territories only.

Footnote 8

In 1971, the difference between counts for private dwellings occupied by usual residents and private households is due to the exclusion of dwellings occupied by households outside Canada from the occupied private dwellings count and their inclusion in the private households count. However, in 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011, households outside Canada and their dwellings are excluded from the counts of occupied private dwellings and the counts of private households.

In 1971, the difference between counts for private dwellings occupied by usual residents and private households is due to the exclusion of dwellings occupied by households outside Canada from the occupied private dwellings count and their inclusion in the private households count. However, in 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011, households outside Canada and their dwellings are excluded from the counts of occupied private dwellings and the counts of private households.
