Description

This figure shows the proportion of the working-age population (aged 15 to 64), in percentage, in Canada's provinces and territories for 2006 and 2011. It also shows the proportion of people aged 65 and over for Canada as a whole in 2011, which was 68.5%. The following are the values for each province and territory, beginning with those for 2006, followed by those for 2011: 70.6% and 69.2% in Newfoundland and Labrador, 67.5% and 67.3% in Prince Edward Island, 68.8% and 68.4% in Nova Scotia, 69.1% and 68.4% in New Brunswick, 69.1% and 68.2% in Quebec, 68.3% and 68.4% in Ontario, 66.3% and 66.6% in Manitoba, 65.2% and 66.0% in Saskatchewan, 70.1% and 70.1% in Alberta, 68.9% and 69.0% in British Columbia, 73.7% and 73.6% in Yukon, 71.3% and 72.5% in the Northwest Territories, and 63.3% and 64.0% in Nunavut.
